Shredding Sebonac, Christmas Eve

333181666_595fbf352f
Should we skip the "Christmas came early" cliche? We should have. Doh!

Sebonac Inlet on a 30 knot westerly, and puffins all over the place. What more could you ask for? (Jeff took better photos than I did... including this one...check out his flicker page.)

Outside of an ABK clinic in September, I haven't seen so many windsurfers in one place all year.

Sebonac is on the Great Peconic Bay...the reach north on a westerly has you sailing in moderately shallow water (neck-high water...I'm 5'11") in most spots that I fell, yet there's rolling swell (in 30 knots, at least) and shorebreak heading south near the launch. I trashed a fin on my first inside jibe when the bay sucked back.

Winter sessions are precious.

Happy Holidays all!

"It's good to have a shredmobile" my friend Caldwell said, so I made one. It's a Ford E150 cargo van done up with lumber and k-mart plastic boxes.
